From July 4 to 5, Yajiang Photoelectric's 2026 Annual Water Sports Games and Team Building event took place at the Foshan Jiujiang National Dragon Boat Training Center and Heshan Dayan Mountain. Over two days and one night, through wind and rain that came and went, the entire team—amid the rhythm of paddles, the warmth of campfires, and the mountain breeze—completed a collective narrative of unity, perseverance, and breakthrough.

A Hundred Boats Race

Thirteen dragon boat teams from Yajiang (21 members each) assembled under clear skies at the Foshan Jiujiang National Dragon Boat Training Center. Each team marched in carrying self-designed team signs and slogans. At the eye-dotting ceremony—a stroke of vermilion, and the wind and water stirred to life. Team captains then distributed Sprite, and teammates raised their bowls for a shared toast—under the blazing sun, sunlight spread across the water, the red of vermilion and the clarity of Sprite overlapping. Everything was poised for action.

The preliminary heats were completed smoothly in light rain. As the top four teams advanced to the championship finals, the sky suddenly turned hostile—torrential rain poured down, turning the river into a sheet of white. But for a team that assembled under the scorching sun and sprinted to the finish in a downpour, this was nothing more than added drama. The drums kept beating. The paddles kept stroking. When the drumbeat stayed synchronized, the boat shot forward like an arrow; when the rhythm faltered, it spun in place. This is the beauty of dragon boat racing: one person's strength alone cannot move the entire boat, yet one person's mistake can throw off everyone's rhythm.

The finals charged across the finish line in the storm—the heavier the rain, the tighter the paddles, and not a single team backed down. After the race, the entire team gathered at the Yueyan Restaurant in the Jiujiang Double-Distillery Museum to savor authentic dragon boat feast rice, where the mellow aroma of rice wine intertwined with dragon boat stories, drawing a lingering conclusion to a race that stretched from sunrise to rain.

Mountain Music Night

After lunch, the team checked into the Four Points by Sheraton in Heshan, Jiangmen. After a short rest, the "Mountain Music Carnival Night" kicked off at the campsite. Charcoal crackled, the aroma of barbecue drifted through the mountains, and colleagues raised glasses and shared stories under the night sky.

Game sessions brought generous prizes, and laughter echoed without end.

Amidst the barbecue smoke and fire, the dragon boat race top-three awards ceremony took place simultaneously—the warriors who cut through the waves by day received their trophies amid the applause and cheers of the night.

The grand finale of the carnival night: the entire management team took the stage to perform the "Mountain Music Dance." On stage, there were no ranks and no distance. After the dance, the management team leaped off the stage and pulled every colleague into a circling dance—lights reflecting smiling faces, the crowd merging into a flowing dragon. In that moment, job titles and departmental boundaries all melted away in the drumbeats and footsteps of the summer night.

Conquering the Peak: Setting Out Again from the Summit

The next morning, the entire team moved to the national 4A-rated scenic area of Dayan Mountain. The cry of "Conquer the Peak, Who Dares to Challenge" rang out at the mountain's base. Departing from the West Plaza trailhead, the goal was the turnaround point at the Era Tower. The rain grew heavier, yet the team's morale rose rather than fell—the rain-washed mountain path only tested their stamina more.

The top three teams claimed medals at the finish line, but every Yajiang team member who completed the full course in the rain had already proven the meaning of teamwork with their own footsteps.

A Final Word

Two days and one night, opening under blazing sun and closing in pouring rain. The people of Yajiang raised glasses in the sunlight, sprinted in the storm, and climbed in the mountain wind—the rain drenched their fighting spirit and also washed clean the team's true colors.
